I Hope You Dance

It's My 21st Birthday! I'm indeed thankful for seeing another year. I was watching Tyler Perry's , 'The Family That Preys & I came across this song , 'I Hope You Dance.' Originally is was sung by Lee Ann Womack but re-sung by Gladys Knight. Gladys Knight is one of my favorite artists so I am kind of biased towards which version I prefer. But nevertheless, after listening to that song I think I would use the lyrics as I journey into adulthood.

Also, in doing some research I found out that this was one of my favorite people in the whole wide world. By reading my blog you should know who this is Maya Angelou.. This was her favorite song ! I guess great minds do indeed think alike. You should listen to it when you get the chance.

A Tribute to Black History Month

“We should emphasize not Negro History, but the Negro in history. What we need is not a history of selected races or nations, but the history of the world void of national bias, race hate, and religious prejudice.” -- Carter Woodson

I'm Not A Poet

How can you say you want someone, but you're so far apart?
How can you say you want them, but you don't know where to start?
How can you say you'll be there for them; but then you're no where to be found?

Aspirations.

So I was sitting in my room and a thought popped up in my head. As kids we are asked what do you want to be when you grow up. Each time a person asked us we would probably give them a different response each time.

As we became older the question changed to, 'What are your greatest aspirations in life?'

"New Year ; New Me ? "

H E L L O! Welcome back. I haven't neglected my blog or forgot to write. I've just been caught up with handling life. With all that being said, HAPPY NEW YEAR ! I know it's the 13th day of 2016 but better late than never.

Growing . . .

Remember the little girl that lost her soul? I talked to her the other day. She looked happy.. A bit happier than usual.

From our conversation she left me with a few points about life. After losing herself to that guy, she realized that she could not continue living life wondering 'What if..'
